Beaufort Museum


The Beaufort Museum’s mission is to preserve and interpret the man-made history of the City of Beaufort and Beaufort County. It is the only museum in the local area that presents all of Beaufort’s history. We invite you to visit the historic museum, view our exhibitions, attend museum programs, and find out more about Beaufort and the Lowcountry.

Children under 6 years free. All children under twelve years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
Hours
10:00am - 5:00pm
Closed on Sundays, Wednesdays, and City Holidays.

Parking - There are limited metered spaces in the immediate vicinity of the museum. Public parking is also available in the city’s lot, two blocks away on West Craven Street between Port Republic and Craven Streets.

Special Needs - Staff will be happy to provide assistance in accessing the galleries or meeting room with advance notice.

Friends at the Beaufort Museum - The Friends operate a gift shop in the museum. Merchandise includes books, coloring books, historic replicas, and other souvenirs. Purchase help support the Museum.

The Friends offer membership in several categories. Benefits include free museum admission, a quarterly newsletter, advance notification of events, and more.
